Project introduction

St James Group Ltd acquired the M&S Warehouse site in 2013 and are in the early stages of preparing proposals to create a new high quality residential neighbourhood, alongside a new public park.

The development will include:

  • 1.5 hectares (3.7 acres) of open space in the form of a new public park for White City
  • Circa 1500 new homes in a range of different sizes and tenures, including affordable housing
  • Commercial premises to support the residential development

The M&S Warehouse site is located behind Wood Lane Station and to the north of the Hammersmith and City line viaduct, and is a significant development site within the White City Opportunity Area.

The timetable

Community consultation and engagement began in early 2014 and will contribute to design development leading to the submission of a planning application in the summer.

Subject to planning approval, St James aim to start construction in summer 2016. The development is likely to take 12 years to complete.
